Pastor Ed & Joy Away From the Parish
Pastor Ed and Joy will be out of town this Thursday, February 16 through Monday, February 20. Please pray for traveling mercies as they visit their family. Introducing “Letters From Dad”
A national men’s ministry is expanding into this area. It’s called “Letters from Dad”. The program was started and book written by Greg Vaughn. It is helping fathers to learn to leave a legacy by saying the things they’ve always wanted to say but just didn’t know how. “I love you,” “You’re the treasure of my life,” and, “I’ll always be there for you,” are things every child wants and needs to hear from their dad. Watch for more information and upcoming events.
Bible Study
Tuesday evenings, Pastor Ed leads a Bible study based on James W. Moore’s 6 week Bible Study program and DVD “How God Takes Our Little and Makes It Much”. This new Bible study is open to anyone who is interested! It meets on Tuesday’s at 7 pm here at our church and will run through Tuesday, February 14. LOGS
The Ladies of Grace next meeting is this Wednesday, February 22 at 1 pm here at the church.
Prayer Group
The prayer group meets on Wednesday’s from 5-6 pm in our Prayer Chapel. The purpose of this prayer group is to help everyone draw closer to God and to one another as prayers of praise and petition are offered to God. Ash Wednesday Service
The Franklin District Cluster is having an Ash Wednesday Service on this Wednesday, February 22 at 7 pm at the Christ UM Church in Franklin. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
Reschedule- Praise & Worship and Choir Practices
The practices for Praise & Worship and Choir are rescheduled to Thursday, February 23 due to Wednesday being Ash Wednesday. Praise & Worship practice at 6 pm and Choir practice at 7 pm. All are welcome!

Next Bible Study Program
The next Bible study series will be from Adam Hamilton’s 6 week Bible study and DVD on “Final Words From the Cross”. It starts on Tuesday, February 28 and will run through April 3. Please sign up on the back of the “Because You Count” Attendance sheet so we know how many books to order.
Mission Trip Meeting
If you are interested and/or planning on going on the 2012 Mission Trip, please plan on attending this very important meeting on Sunday, February 26 at 2 pm here at the church.
Lay Ministry Training
The Franklin District Lay Ministry Training begins on Sunday, February 26 from 2:30-5 pm at the Mercer UMC and continues every Sunday until March 25. Please see the flyers on the round tables in the sanctuary and in the narthex for more info.
Meeting on “The Church’s Response to Society”
There will be a meeting on “the Church’s Response to Society: Social Media, Bullying and Family” on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10-3 pm at the Christ Community UMC in Butler, PA. Please see the flyers on the round tables in the sanctuary and in the narthex for more info.
Cabela’s Trip!
Anyone interested in going on a trip to Cabela’s Saturday, March 3? If so, be here ready to leave the church at 7 am. There will be a fishing clinic as well. Please sign up on the back of the “Because You Count” Attendance Sheets so we know whether to rent a van or not.
Blessed Dress Ministry
It is once again time for our annual Blessed Dress Ministry! This blessed event is scheduled for Thursday, March 22 from 6 pm until 7:30 pm and Friday, March 23 from 6 pm until 7 pm. Again this year, we are also going to have a fitting on Friday, March 23 at 9:30 am for the special needs young ladies of Venango, Clarion, Crawford and Forest County Schools. Help NeededPastor Ed needs your help! Pastor Ed is forming a Worship Committee comprising of 3-5 people to meet once a month for 3 months starting Sunday, April 1 (No Foolin’!). Mission Trip
The 2012 Mission Trip will be from Sunday, July 15 after the worship service to Saturday, July 21 to Oakhill, WV. Please pray for all those involved, including those who help with the dinners and Trash-n-Treasure Sale to those actually going on the mission trip.
Summer Camps
Registrations forms for the 2012 Wesley Woods Summer Camps and Seneca Hills Camp are located on the table at the back of the sanctuary and on the welcome table in the narthex. Please pick one up and start planning – registrations are due for Wesley Woods by May 1! For more info. and/or to inquire about scholarships, please call the church office at 814-432-8664.
Tax Help
Volunteers will be available to complete your 2011 tax returns at the Baptist Church in Franklin. They will be working every Thursday and Friday starting February 2 through April 13 from 8 am to 3 pm. You should bring all 2011 tax documents including your real estate tax receipts marked PAID. It would also be helpful if you bring last year's (2010) paper work. There are a lot of changes this year so if you have any questions, call Jackie at 432-3476.
